The Face of the Earth

No, we didn't drop off it.

Spent two lovely weeks in NH and took lots of fun photos.  Spent much time with family and friends.  Will took me fiber shop hopping on a day the kids were with Aunt Bonnie & Aunt Mary (I love this man).  We visited the Harrisville Company where I purchased some new harness tie-ups for my loom since the old leather ones had started crumbling to dust.  We visited a small fiber mill in Temple, NH called Fiber Dreams Farm and the lovely proprieter there gave us a tour of her facility and I purchased some Cormo-Leicester roving from her sheep named "Mill Ends" that is dyed a soft shade of variegated bluegreen. I'll post some pictures later of the gorgeous yarn it made.  I also bought a bottle of acid dye by Landscapes of Australia in an amazing shade called "Clematis" and promptly popped some mohair and brown shetland in the pot to see what I would get.  Love it.    Also visited the fiber farm that is LESS THAN A MILE (can you believe it???) from Grammy Jo and Aunt Alis's house (Riverslea farm) and bought a pound and a half of dyed Border Leceister blended with alpaca.  Shades of blue, purple and a color called golden pear that captured my imagination.

There is a Wool Arts Tour  in NH on Columbus day weekend that I'm bummed about missing!  Also, Riverslea Farm was hosting the Seacoast Fiber Festival the weekend we left.  We might have to work our trip around that one next year...

Anywho- I'm inspired after visiting the Harrisville Company to try handpainting some merino and silk roving.  This will have to be a fall project however, since I'm in up to my ears blending Shetland, pygora and angora for this years CSA shares which go out the first few weeks of September!  School shopping tomorrow and some celebrating of Will's birthday.

Baby bunnies are all growed up- I took some cute pictures but left my camera download cable elsewhere...sigh.  I'll get those up too.  We kept three, whom at this date appear to be all does!  They are Nuala (the lavender because she looks like a Selkie), Nimue (blue tort), and Esme -choc tort (after Mistress Esmerelda Weatherwax).  Have to work in grooming bunnies the weekend as well- the two BEW does, Clover and Peanut are ready to have their coats removed.
